Trans Amazonian Challenge - 45 days, 8 countries

, , Americas

HIGHLIGHTS: The Trans Amazonian Challenge is a 45 day long adventure motorcycle expedition traversing the great Amazonian basin and visiting 8 countries (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana and Venezuela) in the northern part of South America. Motolombia is the only motorcycle touring company to offer a guided and fully supported expedition to this “last frontier” of Latin America.

Only a very limited group of riders will get the chance to participate in this challenge to overcome the approx. 14.000 kilometers of mixed terrain and spectacular adventures. The expedition is only possible to complete once a the year due to massive rainfall in some of the areas throughout the rest of the year.

Everything from dirt, mud, rain, forest tracks, mountain passes, boat crossings and beautiful paved roads will be mixed in with interesting historic and cultural destinations, wildlife, Unesco World Heritage sites, incredible scenery and awesome experiences with both locals, team and crew members. There will be plenty to write home about. This is a demanding journey and riders need to be prepared for anything. We run the tour on a scouting basis which means that not every destination and route has been checked out in advance. This challenge is only suitable for riders with advanced riding skills and experience, including riding long days and days of challenging unpaved roads. We will be going up to high altitudes over 4000 meters where it can become quite cold, while most of the expedition will be in humid and warm tropical conditions. Expect to encounter plenty of mud, sand, gravel and dirt. The expedition will be fully supported with a 4×4 support truck, on-bike guide and a very experienced crew from Motolombia, You can chose to ride either your own bike or rent a fully equipped dual sport bike from Motolombia.
