Pyrenees -  Self-guided tour any date to suit

A warm welcome awaits you in this beautiful mountain chalet near the magnificent Pyrenees town of Luchon on the French / Spanish border. From here you can explore the whole of the Pyrenees and the fabulous routes from the Atlantic coast to the Mediterranean on both French and Spanish sides of the mountains - including Andorra. This is riding paradise! Top ride outs with endless "cols" include the Pic du Midi with its cable car and mountain top restaurant and the stunning Millau Bridge. Spain and the "sunny side" of the Pyrenees is only minutes away and there are countless passes nearby. Our ride outs recommend evocative names such as the Col du Portillon, Col de Peyresourde, Col d'Aspin and Col de Tourmalet. And we're not alone loving these moutainous roads. They are regular hosts to the Tour de France (which means they are kept in good condition) and will be hosting an "etape" of the 2010 Tour de France on 19 and 20 July. If you want to see this fantastic event, then book early!

The busy local town of Luchon is within walking distance and has a wide selection of bars and restaurants that have been very popular with our visitors to this area. There are many year round activities from gentle to the more extreme including mountain-biking, white water rafting and paragliding although you will get the most fun just riding your motorcycle around endless curves. The natural thermal spa with restorative waters and a fabulous natural sauna deep in the rocks is great for relaxing at the end of a long ride out.

This eight bedroom chalet has four shared bathrooms, private gardens, an open-plan lounge area with stereo, DVD, Video and English TV and a large underground secure garage for the bikes. For those who wish to travel lightly there's a washing machine available for just a small charge. A copious breakfast is provided and two four course evening meals with wine. Ideal for a group of friends - 8 people can have exclusive use of the chalet! What more could you want?

Take your choice of two routes to reach the Pyrenees. Either ride down through France using Dover/Calais or take the UK/Santander fast ship into Spain. If you have the time and really want to make the most of things link up this destination with the Picos de Europa (see website for details) for absolutely the holiday of a lifetime!
