Old Wild West and Grand Canyons

Ride a Harley along the Million Dollar Highway and visit seven National Parks (Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, Mesa Verde, and the Grand Canyon) plus Monument Valley. We ride on two of the most scenic highways in all of America covering 1,300 miles of beautiful mountains, deserts and mountain valleys!

The tour starts and ends in Las Vegas - our casino style Hotel is only a few blocks from the rental depot where we pick up the bikes to start our adventure. If the Harley is not your thing then we have BMWs and Honda touring bikes available for a modest additional cost. We leave Nevada and ride through the western States of Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado passing through three Native American reservations on this fantastic Wild West Adventure!

Zion National Park is one of nature's greatest wonders. Gigantic red and white rock monoliths tower around you like a skyscraper city of stone - see the Great White Throne, Angel's Landing, the Court of the Patriarchs, and the Narrows where the Virgin River has carved out a narrow canyon with 2,000 foot cliffs on each side. We depart Zion traversing numerous switchbacks and travel through the mile-long Zion tunnel, past the bright red ochre of aptly named Red Canyon riding through a fascinating landscape of unusual rock and sand formations.

Bryce Canyon is characterized by an enormous array of oddly shaped "hoodoos," uniquely eroded rock structures whimsically arranged and tinted with a variety of subtle colours. We will stay in a Hotel close by the park entrance for you to witness the sunrise at Bryce Canyon. We were there a few weeks back and watched transfixed as the early morning sun lit up the pink cliffs and hoodoos, offering an ethereal and stunning sight.

Next we ride Highway 12, recently named an All American Highway, and one of the most scenic highways in America as we visit the Capitol Reef National Park.

In Arches National Park, one of Utah's most famous parks, you can see over a thousand natural stone arches. Canyonlands National Park has rugged and colourful canyons and plateaus carved by the mighty Colorado river. To make the most of our ride, both parks are within easy travel of our two-night stop at Moab, Utah. Visit the tourist office across the parking lot from our Hotel to get information about local hero Butch Cassidy - leader of the Wild Bunch gang that pulled 19 bank heists and train robberies between 1896 and 1901.

We head into Colorado and soon find ourselves in Mesa Verde National Park which shelters some amazing Pueblo Indian villages and cultural sites dating back to pre-historic times. It is considered the premier archaeological park in the US, and is a World Cultural Heritage Site. Nearby is an Indian reservation - it's only a tiny place but Four Corners is where you can stand in four States of America at one time!

Onward to Arizona and Monument Valley, one of the most photographed landscapes in America. This valley of monoliths has been a favourite Hollywood backdrop for 80 years. You will stay on land that belongs to the Navajo Indian tribe. This is truly one of the most beautiful canyons in all of America and a morning you will never forget. Before we head back to Vegas, we ride via Mexican Hat (so called because that's exactly what the rock formation looks like!) to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The North Rim is a thousand feet higher than the more popular South Rim, less crowded and, arguably, more beautiful.

Seeing the sun go down in the Grand Canyon will be truly a once in a life time experience.

This is the opportunity of a lifetime to visit the most spectacular National Parks of America. All accommodation has been carefully selected, all rooms will be en-suite and most hotels/motels have swimming pools and hot tubs. Your MCi Tour guides will be with you throughout the tour to offer you the benefit of their help and advice.
