On this New Zealand tour we ride from Auckland to the 'Winterless North' and stunning New Zealand Bay of Islands. Enjoy varied and thrilling biking on excellent roads taking in the New Zealand Kauri Coast, where we find 1000 year old Kauri trees standing 50 metres tall - true giants of the forest.

Views to die for are found in the Bay of Islands; twisting coastal roads overlooking white sand bays and endless deep blue sea dotted with hundreds of lush green islands. We visit Russell, a New Zealand whaling station in bygone years, but now an up-market seaside village with top quality restaurants and galleries. We head south on an exhilarating ride down the east coast of New Zealand with lovely views of the Pacific Ocean.

The beautiful Coromandel Peninsular in the North Island of New Zealand is next on our itinerary, with its winding coastal roads for exciting riding; then to Rotorua, where incredible thermal activity produces bubbling mud and huge geysers. Experience New Zealand Maori Culture and join a traditional 'Hangi' feast cooked on hot rocks. This unique experience is included in your New Zealand Tour.

Onto Lake Taupo, the largest lake in the centre of the north island of New Zealand, and the holiday playground of the North Island where Kiwis boat, fish, swim and play. In winter and early spring nearby Mount Ruapehu provides snow sports in NZ.

We pass through the Tongariro National Park past three active volcanoes, Mt Ruapehu, Mt Ngauruhoe (Mt Doom in Lord of the Rings) and Mt Tongariro, where it is not unusual to see steam belching from the volcanoes craters. The road twists and turns through steep hillsides, surrounded by deep lush New Zealand forest.

We continue south, passing through the Rimutakas - a biker's dream that winds its way through mountain ranges just north of Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. Pretty houses cling to the hillsides overlooking the lovely Wellington Harbour. See the famous Beehive building - home of our Government and fabulous Te Papa Museum. Great shopping, sophisticated restaurants and cafes are to be had here.

We cross the Cook Straight by ferry, arriving at Picton via the wonderful Marlborough Sounds - your first taste of the tranquil beauty of the South Island of New Zealand and renowned as one of the most beautiful ferry crossings in the world. The Wellington to Picton ferry crossing is included in your New Zealand tour.

Then ride along the twisting coastline of Queen Charlotte Sounds. We enjoy sweeping curves en route to Nelson through vineyards and orchards. Nelson is the biggest fishing port in New Zealand and 2nd largest city in the South Island - a cosmopolitan city with up-market shopping and a 'Mediterranean' micro-climate.

We ride south alongside rushing rivers, lush forests and deep gorges, then sweeping West Coast roads above the wild rocky shore. We see the spectacular limestone Pancake Rocks before arriving at the New Zealand gold rush town of Greymouth.

'The best motorcycling in the world' is our next experience on the West Coast Road, designed by the grandfather of famous motorcycle designer John Britten - breathtaking fun all the way to Glacier country, where glaciers advance close to the coast. These majestic, awe-inspiring spectacles are amazing seen from the ground, and even more stunning seen from above. A helicopter trip can take you around Mount Cook (the tallest mountain in New Zealand) and land on the glacier.

Famous motorcycle heaven, Haast Pass, is next on our agenda. We ride through river plains, alongside clear blue lakes with a backdrop of the snow capped Southern Alps on our way to Queenstown, known as the 'adventure playground of the world'.

Queenstown has stunning views across Lake Wakatipu to The Remarkables alps. You'll have plenty of time to explore the delights of Queenstown before we ride around the crystal clear waters of Lake Wakatipu on our way to New Zealand Fiordland.

Fiordland is a million hectares of remote primaeval beauty, one of the few places on the planet of untouched wilderness. Waterfalls tumble hundreds of metres into pristine forested valleys. The mirror surfaces of the fiords reflect the majestic towering mountains enclosing them, dolphins, seals and Fiordland crested penguins make their home here. Silence takes on a different meaning... take a free cruise on Milford Sound or Doubtful Sound to appreciate the wonder of the magical fiords.

Next stop is Invercargill on the Southern Scenic Route of New Zealand, then through the Catlins, a hidden paradise in an unspoilt corner of the world. With fast straights and sweeping corners, we're on our way to the 'Scottish' city of Dunedin where Victorian architecture and the lovely Otago Peninsula makes this an attractive visit.

Our next adventure is riding the famous New Zealand Lindis Pass, an undulating ride that takes us to central Otago and the crystal clear Lake Tekapo with fantastic views of the tallest mountain in New Zealand, Mount Cook.

Across lush green plains, we make our way to Christchurch, the most 'English' New Zealand city, built around the picturesque Avon River.

We head for the west coast across the Canterbury plains and over famous Arthur's Pass - from fertile valleys to the towering mountain crags of the Southern Alps of New Zealand.

It's alpine riding at its best through Lewis Pass to Kaikoura (food crayfish in Maori). Kaikoura is famous for its whale watching. You can see these magnificent creatures either by boat or by air. Kaikoura is also home to the world's largest dolphin, the Orca, and the world's smallest, rarest dolphin, Hector's. Kaikoura attracts the largest concentration and variety of seabirds on mainland New Zealand including Albatross, Petrels and Shearwater.

Our penultimate day is in Hanmer Springs, the main thermal resort of the South Island, where we can rest our weary bodies in natural New Zealand hot spring spas.

Sadly, today we head back to Christchurch to say our goodbyes. It may be the end of your New Zealand tour, but you'll have memories to last a lifetime.
