Australia Tasmanian Devil tour
Total distance: ca. 3,317 kms
Duration: 21 days
Level: easy to medium
The Tasmanian Devil tour: As Rob van Driesum, former editor of Australian Motorcycle News and Lonely Planet Guide Books, summarised it:
"Of all the areas I've seen in the world, Tasmania offers the greatest variety of motorcycling experiences in some of the best scenery you'll find anywhere. If there's a motorcycle heaven, it's called Tasmania."
During the 3,317 km long tour, every single day is a motorcycle rider's dream.
The first day of the tour sees us in the heart of Melbourne for a little bit of sightseeing. After all, city life in a great city like Melbourne can be exciting too. Before we board the ferry to Tasmania, we have three "warm-up days" at the edge of the Snowy Mountains and at the most southerly point of the Australian mainland, Wilson's Promontory National Park. We ride along scenic Lake Eildon, experience our first dirt roads, and enjoy spectacular mountain views. We take the night ferry from Melbourne to Devonport, and at 7am we arrive in motorcycle heaven where we will be riding around for the next 12 days.
