Along the Mekong to Luang Prabang, the Plain of Jars and encounters with elephants.

First day starts with a "Baci", a traditional Buddhist blessing ceremony for the participants of the tour at Papaya Spa. After that, we are off due west along the Mekong to discover the kingdom of the elephant in the province of Sayabouri on the border with Thailand.

The trail will take you through primal forests and through jungle, along mountainous riding paths and, never far away, the Mekong. You will then descend the peaks of the north towards Luang Prabang, Laos' ancient royal capital and a UNESCO world heritage site, for a comfortable stop-over before hitting the mountain paths. You will go upriver in a long tail boat, cross rice paddies before finally arriving at the Plain of Jars.

The tour then brings you along the border with Vietnam, on beautiful trails with several fords before arriving at the Nakai plateau. The night is spent in Takhek along the Mekong. We then head due north towards the land of the Mong, dotted with lakes and surrounded by massive karst cliffs. You will arrive in Vang Vieng for a last stop-over before heading back to Vientiane where the masseuses of Papaya Spa will take care of your sores and little aches thanks to their expertise in traditional massage techniques.
