North to Alaska Motorcycle Tour
Day 1 Saturday, May 15th:
Arrival in Portland, OR
Please arrive at Portland International Airport (PDX) by mid-afternoon. Hotel check-in. Join us for a welcome dinner and orientation. Stay in Portland.
Day 2 Sunday, May 16th:
Portland, OR to Yakima, WA - 187 miles
We begin the tour in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Marvel in the difference in topography as we leave the lush green Willamette Valley and end the day in the high desert of Central Washington. Stay in Yakima.
Day 3 Monday, May 17th:
Yakima, WA to Okanogan Valley, BC - 260 miles
Make a run for the border through the Ponderosa Pine forests and high desert of North Central Washington. End the day in the beautiful Okanogan Valley. Stay in Okanogan Valley.
Day 4 Tuesday, May 18th:
Okanogan Valley, BC to Quesnel, BC - 400 miles
Ride the twisting mountain roads and rolling farmland of Southern BC as we continue North on the "Gold Rush Trail" Toward the Cariboo Gold Fields. Stay in Quesnel.
Day 5 Wednesday, May 19th:
Free day in Quesnel
Ride, rest, explore, it's your day! Ride to Barkersville or one of the many side roads in the area. Explore museums rich in gold-rush history. Rest in the comfort of your hotel room or go for a walk around town. Stay in Quesnel.
Day 6 Thursday, May 20th:
Quesnel, BC to Dawson Creek, BC - 325 miles
We turn onto the John Hart Highway in Prince George and climb over the Rocky Mountains on our way to the beginning of the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek. Stay in Dawson Creek.
Day 7 Friday, May 21st:
Dawson Creek, BC to Ft. Nelson, BC - 283 miles
Enjoy the wide-open spaces of this isolated part of Canada. Look for Sasquatch! Stay in Ft. Nelson.
Day 8 Saturday, May 22nd:
Ft. Nelson, BC to Liard Hot Springs, BC - 194 miles
Reach the highest point on the Alaska Highway at 4,250ft. This section of road is one of the few stretches that follow the original route blazed in 1942. So in addition to sweeping views, pristine lakes and rivers, and lots of wildlife, there are also some great twisties. Relax in the all-natural hot springs this evening. Stay at Liard Hot Springs.
Day 9 Sunday, May 23rd:
Liard Hot Springs, BC to Whitehorse, YT - 410 miles
There's gold in them there hills! And that's why Whitehorse is here! We cross into the Yukon Territory, Larger than life! Welcome to the headwaters of the Yukon River. Stay in Whitehorse.
Day 10 Monday, May 24th:
Free day in Whitehorse, YT
It's your vacation; enjoy the day, as you will. Rich in history, diverse in culture, and built on adventure, Whitehorse has much to offer! You may want to participate in an extraordinary day ride to Skagway, Alaska, and back. (220 miles roundtrip) Stay in Whitehorse.
Day 11 Tuesday, May 25th:
Whiehorse, YT to Tok, AK - 430 miles
Ride beside the snow capped Kluane Range and cruise around Kluane Lake on your way to the Alaska border. Stay in Tok.
Day 12 Wednesday, May 26th:
Tok, AK to Anchorage, AK - 328 miles
Ride past Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, the largest national park in the U.S. Travel a designated National Scenic Highway, the Glenn Highway. In Anchorage you're sure to enjoy the farewell party at our shop this evening. A catered dinner and hotel room within walking distance are also included for the night.
Day 13 Thursday, May 27th:
Fly home or continue on.
